Responsibilities

In this high-profile role, the Director of Accounting will have direct supervision over general accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll), reconciliation of the financial aspects of payer contracts, external audits, treasury and tax. You will direct the day-to-day financial activities of the organization and prepare interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for use by management. In addition, you will be responsible for the company's accounting practices, financial policies, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day management of the general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and payroll functions.
  • Coordinate, review and ensure the integrity of the monthly and quarterly financial statements, Board of Director reporting, and related customer financial reports.
  • Direct and coordinate all accounting policies, procedures and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards to ensure systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards.
  • Evaluate, analyze and implement where appropriate proposed Accounting Standards and ensure compliance with all financial accounting regulations.
  • Ensure timely and successful completion of all external audits.
  • Coordinate and ensure the accurate and timely filings of all required tax returns.
  • Collaborate and coordinate effectively across all departments within the organization to provide accounting support, analysis and recommendations.
  • Support executive/sales teams by interfacing with health plan clientele and discussing Landmark’s financial controls and standards, and supporting monthly invoicing and reconciliation activities and revenue cycle activities.
  • In collaboration with other members of finance management, review monthly financial statements and related information with multi-state market leadership.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience in a medium to large organization accounting environment, with increasing levels of responsibility;
  • 4+ years supervising accounting staff
  • BS Degree in Accounting
  • CPA License preferred
  • Previous experience in a public accounting firm preferred
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience in: reconciliations, analysis, financial statements, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.
  • Previous experience handling intercompany transactions, and Equity and Profit unit issuance preferred
  • Experience with consolidations; working with multi state, multiple legal entities preferred
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with financial/data applications and General Ledger software

Bonus Points Awarded for:

  • Health Care and Managed Care experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Netsuite and Ultipro software is a plus
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Public Accounting experience a plus
