At Landmark, our interdisciplinary teams collaboratively manage our complex patient panels. These teams are led by Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants, with supporting care provided by RN Nurse Care Managers, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Behavioral Health and other employed team members.

This position is responsible for maintaining computer security systems, monitoring computer systems, identifying and responding to suspected security incidents. The position will work closely with the Director of Information Security and members of the IT Department to ensure Landmark Health systems and electronic data are protected from internal and external unauthorized access, modification, deletion, or disclosure in compliance with LMH policies, standards and security best practices. Provides input to processes and procedures, maintains metrics and measurements, conducts regular system audits, supports response to suspected security incidents, and responds to user questions.

Responsibilities

Specific tasks include:

  • Monitors network traffic, system logs and alerts in accordance with LMH procedures.
  • Investigates suspected security incidents and alerts under the direction of the Incident Response Leader.
  • Performs regular system audits for policy compliance, such as user access and permissions.
  • Maintains metrics and prepares reports as directed by senior team members.
  • Performs regular vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security assessments in support of customer and compliance requirements.
  • Performs scanning and acceptance testing of systems prior to production use.
  • Administers security software, such as scanning tools, log management, and data loss prevention.
  • Participates in evaluation of security products, services, and standards including testing and performing peer review on proposed system configuration or changes. Assists with propagating security awareness among employees and developing an awareness program.
  • Provides on-call support on security issues during non-business hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of IT technical experience  AND 2-4 years of continuous information security experience.
  • Preferred certifications: CISSP, SSCP,  GIAC or GCIA.
  • Information Security experience in Healthcare is preferred.

This position reports to the Director of Information Security and receives direction from the Information Security Engineer. The incumbent must work closely with the members of the IT Department who maintain the computer and network systems.

Technical requirements:

  • Working knowledge of the security issues/concerns that impact the healthcare industry and related technologies that can address these security concerns.
  • Functional experience managing antivirus, endpoint encryption, and other end-user security software.
  • Functional experience performing security monitoring including daily log review and periodic analysis of user activity.
  • Functional experience operating open-source or commercial vulnerability scanners.
  • Experience identifying vulnerability remediation procedures and either implementing them or effectively communicating them to system owners.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, ability to analyze firewall rules and to understand network diagrams.
  • Experience maintaining security solutions for Windows, Apple, and Linux technologies.
  • Optional: Understanding of mobile device security issues and management or remediation technologies

Preferred: Experience writing effective regular expressions, queries, or scripts in conjunction with security tools. Successful candidates must also have the ability to:

  • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing with non-technical staff at all levels of LMH.
  • Cheerfully guide users through remote resolution of common security issues.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills and problem-solving capability.
  • Provide input to LMH standards, polcies, and procedures.
  • Understand ITIL processes and general IT best practices as they relate to security management.
  • Determine when to ask for assistance or escalate a problem to managment for guidance.
  • Perform multiple tasks and set priorities in a high-paced environment.
