Responsibilities

Position Overview:

In this high-profile role, and as a member of the Finance team, the Payroll Analyst / Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in daily data entry Payroll processing. This position will impact a rapidly growing organization and offers career development opportunities.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Audits bi-weekly payroll before payrolls are released for processing.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Identify and participate in process improvement projects, including various implementations and upgrades.
  • Assist in performing monthly GL close duties related to payroll including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
  • Set up employees Pay Time Off (PTO) and manage employees’ PTO plans in accordance with company policies
  • Assist in processing accurate and timely quarterly and year-end regulatory filings, i.e. 940, 941, etc.
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Assist with regulatory audits when necessary
  • Report 401k contributions to 401k provider in an accurate and timely manner

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • 4+ years’ experience processing multi-state payroll.
  • Experience recording payroll journal entries and reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts.
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Basic treasury knowledge including bank transfers
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is helpful or other electronic time keeping systems
  • Systems or software implementation experience preferred
